The house - Grahella
In 2017 we bought our second house. New build, so first owners. Mainly to have a house in the future to stay in when we want to move to Iceland. It was finished in December of 2018, so then we furnished the house as it is today, based on all necessities learned from having the house in Gauksrimi - Selfoss. This house is just a few minutes from the one at Gauksrimi. So if you want to stay with a larger group it is also a possibility to rent both houses (with a discount offcourse).
When we were going to Iceland in the past and rented a place to stay it bothered us that a lot of stuff was missing in the house, kitchen, etc. Therefore we tried to fill the house with as much as you can think of you might need and include as much as possible in the price and still keep the price affordable.
The house has a complete new interior (end 2018). For families traveling with babies a babybed and childseat for the dining table is available for free. Please let us know upfront.
We are not living in Iceland ourselves, but if you send us an e-mail, facebook messenger or call us, we will arrange the carekeeper of the house to contact you as soon as possible for further assistance.Dishwasher tablets, a washing tablets toilet paper, coffee, tea, salt and pepper are allready in the house for you. Also bedlinnen and towels are included.
All areas as specified can be used by the guests. For guests arriving by car there is a parkingspace available in front of the house. Big enough for at least 2 cars.
WiFi is available in the house and is also included in the rent. A book with pictures a suggestions for daytours is available in the house, together with leaflets of interesting places to visit or things to do.
Living room
The living room is a nice and cosy place with a sleeping couch which does not have to be used because the bedrooms allready provide 6 sleeping places. The living room has a smart tv with netflix (subscription allready paid for) and a chromecast, so you can stream all your favourite programs from your phone or watch netflix. Also cosy blankets and pillows to crawl under are there for you to use.
There is also a blue Ray Player (for CD, DVD and Blue Ray DVD). Some DVD's and Blue ray movies are in the house available.
Bedrooms
The house offers 3 bedrooms. A master bedroom with a large bed (180 cm x 200 cm) and a big wardrobe.
The second bedroom provides you with a single bed which can be transformed to a double bed just by pulling out the bottom part. So 2 single mattresses. The bedlinnen are also single so you can choose how to use the bed. The bed is 90x200 but can be made a 180x200 as well. This room also has a wardrobe and 3 drawers under the bed. Enough place to leave your belongings.
The third bedroom is almost similar as the second bedroom but mirrored. Here you can see how the bed looks when it is single. Both smaller bedrooms have a private wardrobe and 3 drawers under the bed.
Bathroom
The bathroom provides you with a nice shower Furthermore there is a toilet in the same area and a place to do your make up and enough place to store other personal hygiene stuff. Towels are included in the price. Please do be aware of the brittle environment of Iceland and only use the towels you need or try to re-use them.
In the bathroom area you will find the washer and dryer which can be used if you want to. This way you do not have to take a lot of clothes with you and leave enough space for all the souvenirs you want to buy.
Kitchen
The kitchen provides a microwave oven, a normal oven, a dishwasher, coffeemachine waterboiler, toaster and fridge with freezer. Besides that you can dine and eat in the kitchen/living room area on a table which can be extended but is not to big to leave enough space to use all the space in its best way.
