guest house nICE stay

about us

We are Fred and Judith Litzouw. We are married, officially living in Holland and we have 3 kids (Pascal, Jaimy and Adinda).

Some 20 years ago we got infected with the Iceland-virus. And after many of visits (sometimes more than once a year), we decided in 2014 to buy a house in Selfoss. Basically to go more and more often to this wonderfull, quiet and peaceful island.

We noticed that Iceland is on many peoples bucketlist of favourite places to visit. That's why we have deciced to rent out our home so that others can enjoy Iceland as much as we do.

comfort

We have tried to offer the houses (there are 2 and both in Selfoss) as complete as possible (cups and plates, microwave, oven, toaster, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, shower and bath, etc.). Besides that we offer you free bedlinnen and towels and tablets for the the dishwasher and washing machine, tea and coffee. All in all a complete package to have a nice and comfortable holiday/stay in a house in Iceland which is different of most other houses you rent in Iceland. Furthermore we have very helpfull and friendly neighbours.

Why a house in Selfoss? Because it is close to Reykjavik, but next to that also close to all the natural wonders of Iceland in the south. Jokulsarlon, which is the most far national wonder of Iceland from Selfoss, is about 300 kilometres from Selfoss (a 3 to 3,5 hour drive). Also the Golden Circle (Geysir, Gulfoss, Thingvellir), Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss and Landmannalaugar are very easy to do from Selfoss.

Why booking with nICEstay? Because we offer a personal touch to your booking. Just that little bit of extra service.

have a nICE stay

The houses are located near Ringroad 1. Due to it's location it is a good base to explore all the natural wonders the south coast of Iceland has to offer.

To give you an impression:

- The Reykjanes peninsula can be visited in a daytrip;

- A visit to Geysir, Gulfoss and Thingvellir can also be done within a day.

- The city of Reykjavic is only 50 kilometres away

- A roundtrip to Landmannalaugar can be done within a day.

- Jokulsarlon, the Iceberg lake, is 300 km (3-3,5 hours) away. On the way you can visit some magnificent waterfalls and the puffin rock near Vik.

In order to fully enjoy your trip we have prepared a couple of roundtrips which are available in the house. We have about 20 years of experience in Iceland (both camping out, travelling around as well as staying in guesthouses), so we think we can help you on what to do, what to see, where to go, where to rent a car, where to go for horsebackriding, etc.

As said we would love to help you in getting the same Iceland-virus infection as we are experiencing.

For now we have nothing more to say than:

"We hope you'll have a nICEstay".
